This photograph was taken along the Southwest Arm Trail in Terra Nova National Park, where the trail follows the brook through mature Newfoundland forest. The trees, exposed roots and thick moss give the forest floor plenty of texture, while the brook cuts through the middle of the scene and leads the eye deeper into the woods. I liked the way the trees frame the brook in this view. Rather than looking out over a big Newfoundland landscape, this is one of those quieter scenes you come across when you're walking through the woods. The greens, moss and dark tree trunks give the photograph a very natural Newfoundland feel. This would make a nice piece for a living room, hallway, office, cottage or cabin, particularly if you like artwork with a natural, outdoorsy feel. The vertical format also works well on a narrower wall or beside a doorway, while the greens and earthy tones would fit nicely with wood, neutral colours and other nature-inspired decor. It would also make a good Newfoundland print for someone who has spent time hiking in Terra Nova National Park or simply wants a little bit of the Newfoundland woods on the wall.
